Principal’s News
Dear EVES Families,
It was wonderful to see you when you attended your child’s parent/teacher conference.  We had a great turn-out as parents came in to find out how their children were doing in school.  Thank you, also, to those of you who supported our successful book fair in the library.
As we look forward to the winter season, please be reminded that the weather changes dramatically during the day, at times, so please be sure your children are prepared.  We do not participate in indoor recess (both morning and lunch) unless we reach temperatures below zero. 
In addition, I would like to remind parents to park cars in a parking spot if you’re intending to enter the building in the morning.  It is extremely hazardous when cars are left in the drop-off zone.  Please do not leave your cars running or parked in the drop-off zone.  Thank you.
Finally, I would like to continue to invite parents to attend our School Accountability Council meetings.  Our next one is on November 5th and we’ll be revising/aligning our school’s mission and vision statements.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

To label Book Room Books!  In order for teachers to affectively distribute appropriate reading materials we would like to label chapter books with their reading levels.  Please contact Theresa Carullo (328-5181) if this is something you can help with.  Thanks!


PTA MEETING

Please join us at our monthly PTA Meeting – November 12th – 5:00-6:00 p.m.  We will be approving budget allocations for the 2007-2008 school year. 

Our school received $21,150.00 from Wild West Day proceeds.  Congratulations, and thanks to everyone for their hard work.  A special thanks to Sherryl Essex, Linda Zilar, Debbie Darrough, Julie Stoxen, Linda Barca and Lori Hixon.

Las Noticias de La Directora
Queridos Familias,
Fue maravilloso a ver ustedes para las conferencias entre padres y maestros.  Muchos padres de familias llegaron para saber como están progresando sus niños.  También les doy mil gracias a todo los que apoyaron la venta exitosa de libros en la biblioteca.
Ya que vamos entrando al invierno, recuerdan que el tiempo cambia rápidamente durante el día sus niños deben estar bien vestidos.  Salimos afuera para el recreo hasta la temperatura sea mas baja que cero. 
Además, quisiera recordantes a los papas que deben estacionar sus carros en el lugar apropiado si van a entrar la escuela.  Es muy peligroso dejar los carros en la “drop off zone” (la zona donde dejar pasajeros).  Favor de no dejar sus carros con el motor prendido o estacionado en la “drop off zone”.
Finalmente, invito otra vez a los padres de familias a asistir en las reuniones de “School Accountability Council”.  La siguiente reunión será el 5 de noviembre para discutir la visión y la misión de la escuela.
