Principal’s News

Dear EVES Families,
Wow, February sure went by quickly here at Eagle Valley Elementary School.  We have fully entered the second half of the year with our spring assessments and activities coming up. 
I wanted to take the time to thank all parents for your patience and perseverance as we made it through another year at Learn to Ski.  Although we didn’t get home until later than expected on both nights, our students made it home safely, only to face our first snow day in decades.  THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HELPED US TO RETURN OUR STUDENTS HOME SAFELY.  Teachers and staff put forth extra effort to make sure our students were accounted for during a difficult time.
As we look forward to March, please be aware that we will be holding our Parent/Teacher Conferences before we head off to Spring Break.  Our conferences will be on March 18th and 20th.  Again, you may call the school office to schedule your conferences beginning on March 3rd. 
Please also keep in mind that our CSAP tests continue in March for our third, fourth, and fifth graders.  Please try not to schedule any absences during the two testing weeks outlined in on this page.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

CSAP State Testing
We will be administering the CSAP tests according to the following schedule…
Third Grade
Writing Test ~ March 11th and 12th
Math Test ~ March 18th and 19th
Fourth Grade
Math Test ~ March 10th – 12th
Reading and Writing Tests ~ March 11th – 20th
Fifth Grade
Science Test ~ March 10th –  12th
Reading and Writing Tests ~ March 13th – 20th
Math Test ~ March 18th – 21st

** Please try not to schedule vacations or other absences during this time.  It is critical that all our students are in attendance during our testing window.  Thank you.


PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Tuesday, March 18 and Thursday, March 20.  Please call 328-6981 starting Wednesday, March 5 through Tuesday, March 11 to schedule a conference. 


KINDERGARTEN ROUND UP

Eagle Valley Elementary School will be hosting its annual Kindergarten Round Up on Tuesday, April 8 and Thursday, April 10.  Children who are 5 years old by October 1 are invited to attend this pre-registration.  Please call the school office at 328-6981 to schedule your appointment. 


NOTES FROM THE P.E. DEPT. 

We have finished our Jump Rope for Heart unit in which we had many great discussions on how to keep our bodies healthy.  Your children are incredible learners and have so much knowledge to share with those around them!

We wrapped up Jump Rope for Heart with a jumping event on February 27th.  It was fun seeing how much your children enjoy a physical activity that is so good for them.  If your
child has not already turned in their fundraising packet for the American Heart Association that was due on February 28th, please have them do so.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DR. SEUSS AT EAGLE PUBLIC LIBRARY!

Join Eagle Public Library for its annual Dr. Seuss birthday celebration from 2-3 p.m. on Friday, March 7th, which is a school holiday.

Grades K & up are invited to join library staff readers for Dr. Seuss stories, games, craft, and birthday cake!

In recognition of Read Across America and Dr. Seuss’s Birthday!  For more information, call 328-8811. 



Noticias de la Principal

Queridas Familias de EVES,

¡Caramba! El mes de febrero se fue rápido aquí en la escuela.  Hemos entrado totalmente en la segunda mitad del ano con nuestras evaluaciones de primavera y otras actividades acercándose.
Quería agradecerles a todos los padres de familia por su paciencia y su perseverancia en cuanto seguimos adelante en otro ano de Aprender a esquiar.  Aun que no llegamos a casa hasta mas tarde que lo esperado ambas noches, nuestros alumnos regresaron a casa sin problemas, seguida por experimentar nuestro primer día de nieve en décadas.  MIL GRACIAS A TODOS LOS QUE NOS AYUDARON A RETORNAR LOS ESTUDIANTES A SUS CASAS SIN PROBLEMAS. Los maestros y el equipo de la escuela se esforzaron para asegurar que los estudiantes fueron tomados en cuenta durante este tiempo difícil.
En cuanto miramos hacia al mes de marzo,  favor de llevar en cuenta que tendremos nuestras conferencias para Padres/Maestros antes de las vacaciones de primavera.  Las conferencias se celebraran el 18 y 20 de marzo. Se puede llamar a la oficina para programar sus conferencias comenzando el 3 de marzo. 
Favor de recordar también que nuestros exámenes  del estado, CSAP  van a continuar en marzo por nuestros alumnos de tercer, cuarto y quinto grado.  Favor hacer todo posible de no programar cualquier ausencias durante las dos semanas mencionadas en esta pagina. Si haya preguntas, favor de no tener pena en preguntarnos.
