NOTE FROM THE P.E. DEPARTMENT
I hope that everyone had a wonderful Holiday season and is starting the year in a Healthy way. We will be starting out the year talking about how to keep ourselves healthy by participating in physical activity and healthy eating.
Along with this unit in PE, we will be participating in JUMP Rope for Heart. Jump Rope for Heart is a fundraiser for the American Heart Association. This fundraiser is used to raise money for this association and also to raise awareness to what each of us can do to keep our bodies and minds in a healthy state of being. At the end of January, be looking for the fundraising packets that will be sent home with your child. Please look over these with your child and encourage and help them in any way you can.
In February, a Jump Rope for Heart jumping event will be held for an hour after school. Students will need to have transportation home from this event since busses will run at the regular time. The date for this event has yet to be finalized, so please check next month’s newsletter for the exact date and time.
Thank you so much for the encouragement you give your children in their efforts to keep themselves and the ones they care about healthy.
