December 2007 Newsletter
Principal’s News
Dear EVES Families,
We have made it to the end of our first trimester together at school. Teachers were busy working on report cards right after Thanksgiving break. If you have any questions at all about Standards-Based Reporting, please first refer to the brochure sent out by Heather Eberts, Director of Elementary Education. These brochures were sent home with the report cards. If the brochure doesn’t answer your questions, please do not hesitate to call me or come in to confer with me.
As we enter into the second trimester of school, teachers and students have settled into a routine and intensive learning is occurring. Thank you to those of you who find the time to come in and help in the classrooms on a weekly basis. We know how difficult it is to find time in busy schedules to come in and support the teachers and students at EVES.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday break with your families this winter. Please be reminded that our break begins on December 15th and students are expected back on January 2nd.
Happy Holidays!
Respectfully,
Monica Lammers

WINTER NOTES FROM THE P.E. DEPARTMENT
The P.E. year is well under way. After starting the year with a guest Karate teacher, Mr. James Lee, students have had a great time learning about physical fitness, soccer, and football. Students impress me daily with their knowledge and execution of skills being studied and practiced.
In order to facilitate their learning, students need to remember to wear or bring tennis shoes to school on their PE days. I realize that some days are snowy and cold, but tennis shoes are needed to help keep your child from slipping, falling, and getting toe injuries as they learn and practice old and new skills. Please help your child remember tennis shoes for PE, especially on those cold and snowy days. Thanks for your help.

¡Felices Fiestas!
Respetuosamente,
Monica Lammers
