Principal’s News

Dear EVES Families,

Welcome back from Spring Break!  It was great to see most of you at EVES for our Parent/Teacher Conferences just before we left for our short break.  On behalf of all the teachers, I wanted to thank those of you who supported our teachers by bringing in the food items for dinner.  When teachers have taught all day and start up conferences right after school until 8:00pm, it becomes a very long day.  I know the dinners were greatly appreciated.  Thank you, too, to the PTA for organizing the events and taking care of us.

As we enter April and look forward to May, please be sure your child(ren) are coming to school equipped for temperature and weather changes.  Layers of clothing would be recommended as we are not able to predict how a day will unfold.  Also be aware of the fact that field experiences or trips will increase as the weather gets nicer, so please pay close attention to teacher notes and newsletters.

In closing, I would like to remind everyone that our Kindergarten Round-Up dates are April 8th and 10th.  If you know of any youngsters out there who are looking forward to Kindergarten, please remind them for us.  We greatly appreciate your assistance in spreading the word.  Thank you.

 Respectfully,

Monica Lammers

UPDATE FROM THE PE DEPARTMENT

This school year, EVES raised over $2,000 for the American Heart Association.  If your child participated in this fundraiser, please take the time to congratulate them on their hard work and effort in helping others improve their physical fitness and overall health.

Field day has been set for Wednesday, May 28th from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on the field at EVMS.  EVMS has graciously agreed to let us borrow their field again this year.  The proximity to our own school seems to benefit both students and teachers.  If  Field Day gets rained out on this date, the makeup day will be Tuesday, June 3rd at the same time.  As the date gets closer, please check for any updates that may occur.

Gracias.

Respetuosamente,

Monica Lammers
